How safe is Niagara Falls for female travelers?

Solo travel

I went here with a friend of mine but we both paid for our own rooms and meals. The motel we checked into had a lovely receptionist who gave us a full rundown on how to spend the day at the falls and showed us places with free parking. We went into the Cave of the Winds where we got upclose to the falls (Disclaimer: the ponchos they give you do NOT keep you dry at all, so be wary!). We missed the Maid of the Mist because the last timeslot to book tickets was 7:30PM. But overall, it was an ineffable experience. I managed to cross the rainbow bridge (by walking), immigration took about 15 minutes even with a decent line. The views were nicer on the Canadian side, but I wouldn’t say you would be missing out on a lot if you didn’t cross over. Food and drinks were a little expensive at the attractions but that was to be expected. We went there for 3 days 2 nights and I would say we spent about $250-$300 each, accommodation, food and tickets included.
