Poznan is a very small, yet very peaceful and beautiful city to visit, if you visit Poland. It is not so touristy, however packed with many amazing things to see. I visited this town with my two friends (both woman) and we felt safer than anywhere else even in the middle of the night. The people are very friendly here, and the prices are low.

Solo travel

Poznań is wonderful. I was there for 3 nights and I had a fantastic time. It was not at all a tourist-oriented place, their food is really good and I felt very safe there. Additionally, their colorful buildings and market were really beautiful.

i think poznan, and overall poland is pretty safe. i can say that i have left my things in open spaces, like gallery, for around 10/15 minutes and came back to them in one piece, without having anything stolen :) apart from drunken men, there is nothing much to worry about, but as we know, women must be quite alert at all times.

Poznan is overall a safe city, the streets are clean and the city center is almost never devoid of people (usually students partying). There sometimes appear situation of catcalling, but I'd say it's getting more rare each year (in any case, I usually ignore it and people don't get agressive). You also shouldn't worry too much if you are visiting as a same-sex couple, since Poznań is thought to be the most LGBTQ+ friendly city of Poland.
