Safety:Very safe

Poznan is generally a safe city for solo female travelers. Most parts of the city are tourist-friendly and incidents of crime against tourists are low. However, like in any city, you should always stay alert, especially in crowded places and late at night. Public transportation is reliable and often used by tourists. Polish people usually understand English and are known for their hospitality. Remember to respect the local customs and rules.

Transport:Easy

Poznan is relatively easy to navigate. The city has an efficient public transportation system composed of trams and buses that serve nearly every corner of the city. Many of the key tourist attractions are also within walking distance within the city center. However, for first-time travelers, understanding the tram routes and numbers may be a bit challenging. Schedules can be tricky to grasp as well. If you're more inclined towards active transportation, bike rentals are also widely available. A small limitation though - while most young locals speak English, some older citizens and services may not, which may pose occasional language barriers.

Things to do:Interesting

Poznan is an absolute gem of Poland with its vibrant and well-preserved Old Town, colorful Renaissance-style buildings, and numerous museums, reflecting the city's historical and artistic soul. It's further adorned with fascinating cultural experiences, various activities like boat rides along the river, and exploration of the Citadel Park. Unique coffee culture and delicious Polish cuisine add to the city's appeal. However, it may not be as activity-packed as some larger European cities.

Food:Above average

Poznan offers a rich variety across its food scene. From traditional Polish cuisine to numerous international foods like Italian, Mexican, or Asian dishes, ensuring an array of mouthwatering choices. You'll find decent vegetarian/vegan options as well. The best part? All this comes at relatively affordable prices. However, the local delicacies may take some time getting used to.

Budget:Affordable

Poznan is quite budget-friendly for solo female travelers. Food, accommodation, and transportation can be found at very reasonable prices. Especially if you stick to the local markets, restaurants, and public transportation, you're unlikely to overspend. Tours and entrance fees to museums and attractions are also typically economical. However, prices may increase slightly during peak seasons or for luxury options. Overall, it offers excellent value for the money spent.

Poznan is a very small, yet very peaceful and beautiful city to visit, if you visit Poland. It is not so touristy, however packed with many amazing things to see. I visited this town with my two friends (both woman) and we felt safer than anywhere else even in the middle of the night. The people are very friendly here, and the prices are low.

Solo travel experience

Poznań is wonderful. I was there for 3 nights and I had a fantastic time. It was not at all a tourist-oriented place, their food is really good and I felt very safe there. Additionally, their colorful buildings and market were really beautiful.

About me

Hi, there! Here is Natalia, Polish teacher who has never been anywhere but in my 30s I decided to change it. At these time I'm collecting information about traveling solo or with a friend of mine, upgrading my language and gaining money, of course. Meanwhile, I would like to let other female travellers help with accomodation. I have one room flat, but if you don't mind to share a room with me I can let you use it as a starting point to see a wonderful Poznań. I would love to spend some time with you, be your guide and talk about our culture.
