Is Paris safe for solo female travelers?

Paris, the vibrant capital of France, is generally labeled as a safe city for solo female travelers. Its extensive and reliable public transportation network facilitates travel, even during late hours. Parisians are helpful and most are fluent in English, enhancing the ease of communication. However, like any crowded tourist destination, it's wise to stay vigilant against pickpockets and scams, especially in high tourist areas or in the Metro. It's also recommended to avoid less crowded and poorly lit areas at night. Overall, the experience can be very rewarding with the right precautions.

Paris is a lovely city. Not exactly only in the tourist spots! On my first visit, I didn’t realise Paris as it is, I was in a group and they were very worried about tourist spots. And then I didn’t find the then famous “city of love”. Now in my second time, I discovered the city of love, and I’m not talking about being with someone! Yes, in being with you and finding love in the delicacy of architecture, in the decoration of cute bistros or listening to musicians performing in the late afternoon of the Jardin des Tuileries or sitting down to eat a snack at Jardin du Luxembourg Paris brings art both in its museums but also to be contemplated on the street for everyone 🤍

Stay safe on the roads and on public transport. Avoid tourist scams and you’ll be fine. The French that I have met are kind and friendly. The food depends on the shop you visit, really. So choose wisely :)) Lots of activities to do, especially for those who love arts.

I think that Paris is safe but some neighbourhood are less than others. For example at night in the 18th,19th and 20th neighbourhoods it is better to be a little careful. I would recommend to take a taxi to go home late.

The safety in Paris really depends on the neighbourhood you go, the Uber driver a really safe, be careful at « Porte de Clignancourt » its the only place where I had stressful situations. The metro is okay but close early (depends on the day) so check it before!

Paris is quite a safe city for women, I’ve lived there 10+ years as 30 years old woman who goes out at night. Usually you can walk pretty much everywhere without being bothered, make sure to walk fast, looking straight forward, and not answering anyone if you feel unsafe. Parisian women are known for being arrogant ans rude, be like them, it makes you safe. Tourists are targeted by pickpocket especially around the main attraction. Be smart with your phone, money and valuables. This is the main risk for visitors. It’s fine to take your phone out in the street or the metro but be careful of your surroundings and avoid really crowded places. In the metro be careful with anyone who acts weird : tries to stay super close to you, pretends no to see you and blocks your way, bumps into you in a repeated way etc
