Paris is my live city. I feel so at home there, I can’t describe. I love the buuldings, the streets and all the little parks. I am not about the sights but about the hidden places, except the Eifel tower. I like to sit down in the grass and just be there.
Posted: March 25, 2024Paris is safer than I expected! I am living in Barcelona and I would say Paris feels safer (Barcelona is nice as well, but at some places you need to be more careful!) People are also very nice and helpful even if I don’t speak French!

I felt safe but i was in touristic location, if you travel alone, be careful cause some places are not safe for solo women. S Choose your hostel with a lot of caution and don't hesitate to take an uber if you have long distance to do in non touristic place. Stay safe girlies ❤
Posted: March 11, 2024Experienced: February, 2024I loved Paris, as a female I did feel very safe, however I didn't stray too far away from touristy areas. I only spend a few days there but enjoyed every minute, I highly recommend the catacombes. I'd love to go back.
Posted: March 4, 2024Experienced: October, 2022In Paris, you can explore iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Louvre Museum, home to the Mona Lisa. Stroll along the charming streets of Montmartre, cruise the Seine River, indulge in French cuisine at sidewalk cafes, and immerse yourself in the city's rich cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere. Last but not least! Go to le bouillon restaurant! On budget and really traditional French food
Posted: February 18, 2024It was a nice trip because of all the incredible museums, art, and monuments of the city. People are usually not too eager to communicate and most restaurants are pretty expensive in the city center, a lot of walking is definitely included.

Paris is an insanely expensive place but that is no surprise. It is very dirty and unsafe. Pickpocketers EVERYWHERE (especially in the metro, be careful!), I am pretty sure there were gun shots one night and veganism is just not at all a thing here (I found exactly one place that had vegan meals). But, the metro system is very easy to understand (ALWAYS BUY TICKETS though. They'll corner you in a tunnel underground and chase runners and make them pay). Also it is a very vibrant and alive city, you'll never run out of things to do or see. I went to paris alone, as a couple and in a group and it was always really great. Just really take care of your stuff and be aware of what areas you are in.
Posted: February 17, 2024Paris is my first solo travel experience. I really liked the time I spent there alone. I stayed in a hostel and it was really enjoyable for me because I met people around the people and everything. I’m still keep in touch with one of them. Exploring the city alone, trying the food and walking around the city was perfect. But as you know, Paris is not a safe city. You always should open your eyes and be carefull about your stuff.

So i was 18 and it was my first solo travelling. And i can say it is the best experience that i had for now. I was only for 4 days in Paris and i lived on small couch at my friend appartement. But it was magical. The architecture, the food, the smell of fresh patisserie anywhere you go. The public transport didn't work that days, and that was perfect. Cause i walked the whole city by foot without a rush. And i totally recommend to do the same. Of course i got lost a little bit and appeared in ghetto. But it was fiiiiiine. Also every first Sunday of a month most of the museums in Paris are free. Which is great. Great city to visit, just without a rush, you need to feel the french vibe. Seat at a corner cafe with a glass of wine and judgmentaly look at the people))

Of all the countries I visited, I liked Paris the most. Many people do not like Paris and find its people rude. I was very happy and felt safe in Paris. We went with my husband for our honeymoon. I was amazed by the Eiffel Tower. It is very enjoyable to watch the Eiffel Tower at night.
Posted: January 24, 2024I have lived all over in Paris (in over 7 Arrondissements) for a cumulative period of more than 3 years. I would say I know it well enough to never feel lost. The only areas I (and other locals have concurred) have found unsafe are the major train stations, and various « Porte »’s that designate the separation between Paris proper and the suburbs. These ´porte’s or « doorways » lie on a hw belt that surrounds the city called the « Périphérique ». Not all of them are unsafe but most of them are unsafe - especially in the north of Paris. Most of the stops along metro line 2 are dangerous to anyone - at night but even during the day. Stalingrad, Barbes, La Chapelle…these are a few examples. Me and my male friend were mugged as we made a connection in Stalingrad once. Also line 5,7, and 12 at night in the northern stops of Paris- there are drug deals and occurring on the metro and people openly taking drugs inside the metro stops. Along the Canal St Martin above Stalingrad is absolutely unsafe at night and drugs are being dealt and used openly- the people are unpredictable and have the potential to be aggressive. Always be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine. This is the case in every major city. I have never been attacked or threatened in Paris, but I also am aware that it is unwise to wear skimpy or flashy clothing when walking in these areas or taking these metro lines. If I do, I cover up and am cautious. I also don’t get completely inebriated to the point that I am not in control when I walk home at night. If I’m slightly drunk, I will ask someone to walk home with me or take a bike or uber. I have traveled to almost every country solo in Western and Eastern Europe (including some pts of the Middle East), and of all the major cities, the only ones I have felt unsafe in were Istanbul and parts of Berlin, where individuals were aggressive or violent towards me without provocation. In Paris it’s rare to see anyone provoke or attack others. It’s mainly drugs and petty crime. In comparison, as a US citizen- I can affirm that San Francisco is the most unsafe city I have ever been in, and it is the closest major city to my hometown. So Paris is not as unsafe as some claim- just keep your wits about you!

Paris : what you should be careful about and some tips for cheap travels : - common transportation is very useful, even if a bit expensive. If you fraud, be sure to have a spare unused ticket with you everytime for it minors the fine if you get controlled. - pickpockets usually target tourists, people "looking around" or easy backpack pockets in subway or RER stations. If someone bump into you, they might have taken your wallet. I got robbed twice, both in the north of Paris (line 11 / 7 / 5), I'd watch those carefully. - if you take away in bakeries or tea salon / cafés, you'll pay a bit less than if you eat / drink on the terrasse or inside the place. - French folks can be rude, and not willing to speak English. But don't worry, there are not all the same ! Dont hesitate to write reviews about the shops / commerces that were not welcoming to you, and to check reviews on google Maps if you want to avoid rude interactions. - if you love music, I'd recommend you to browse facebook looking for a "jam", or "impro", there are many at night, usually free to enter, and wild artists coming to perform with modesty. It will brighten your night for sure, and for free !

Paris is a beautiful city to visit and it is easy to loose yourself for few days admiring the city's architecture. The city is pretty safe for women however I do recommend to be with a bike or with a group if you come home late and is in the northern districts (close to the ringroad). You might encounter some pickpockets if you are in touristic districts but if you do not showoff any valuable goods there is no reason you will get stolen. Regarding the best way to visit the city, I would say by bike and by walk. The local "velib" bikes are great transportation means to visit the city.
Posted: December 15, 2023* the best burguer in the city is in Goiko. they have 3 places in the city, i’d recommend the oberkampf one. * the best mexican food you can find here is in acá. it’s a lovely restaurant and they have huuuge burritos. the tacos are awesome too. *dont ever go to pigalle region at night alone. there’s a lot of weird men in the area. during daytime, it feels safer, but it’s still a place to be careful once you’re there. *overall, paris is as safe as any big city. which means you should always watch your belongings in crowded areas and metros. but i need to stress the point that, as a solo female traveler, you should be extra careful here, specially during night times (from midnight until 7am), because the chances of crossing paths with a creep are relatively big.
Posted: November 18, 2023I love visiting this city for two days as a tourist just as much as I despised living there as a local. Amazing city, charming landscapes, outstanding museums, incredible food - if it wasn't for the people!

Hello ! I'm a 22 yo french student in photography. I currently live in Paris but I'm actually from Toulouse (south of France). It's my first time solo traveling so it's a big step for me knowing that I can be a shy person at the beginning. This experience is a challenge for me, asking me to leave my comfort zone. I'm willing to meet new nice people ready to teach me everything they want about their country, city, way of living. Can't wait to meet you all !
