The island's main safety concern is related to the high number of car accidents, but this should not be a significant issue for those not driving. Natural disasters such as cyclones or volcanic eruptions may occur, yet are well managed by local authorities and appropriate warnings are issued.

La Réunion can be somewhat challenging to navigate. Public transport is available but it may not cover all the places you intend to visit. Family travel experience

La Réunion is a fantastic place for those who love hiking! The three cirques and the volcan create breathtaking scenery, the food is excellent and you can even enjoy some nice beaches to the west. The people are very open and friendly: there is no rush here.
