I visited the city for Folk Music Festival and it was amazing experience! Many people attended it and everyone was friendly and helpful. Local people created welcoming atmosphere for my stay and overall no problems occurred. The city is inexpensive and compact, so it’s easy to get to any place if not on foot, but with a bike for sure.
Posted: April 25, 2025Overall, it is a very beautiful country. I visited Tallinn. It had both a modern and an ancient side. The Old Town is impressive. There are many fast food places, so I didn't have any problems with food. Since I was there for a short time, I couldn't explore the local restaurants much. But I plan to go again.
Posted: April 6, 2025As a single trip at first I didn’t feel so safe, but when talking to people and asking everyone agreed that the capital of Estonia-Tallin is a fairly safe city. The historical center is a really great place, and you can easily find it and see all of the interesting places in 1,5 day… I expend just 7-8 hours there because I had to take a fly from Tallin to another place.
Posted: March 14, 2025I felt very safe there. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Although some people didn’t understand Estonian and had to talk Russian. But overall people spoke Estonian and probably could have spoken English if needed. Really recommend walking in the town. It’s so pretty and magical. Also really recommend Sillamäe museums. Really interesting if you’re interested in history.
Posted: February 8, 2025Tallinn was a very nice city! My family and I went over the holidays and it is a beautiful city. The old center is quite touristy and a bit more expensive than the rest of the city. But overall really worth it! I wouldn’t recommend staying for too long as it’s relatively small, three days should be enough!

I felt very safe on this island. The wool mill is open to the public and sell beautiful wool products as well. There are many interesting sculptures around. Local farms for fresh produce and handicrafts to buy and admire. The parks were wonderful and the locals wonderful. I enjoyed my time island hopping in this beautiful country.
Posted: January 1, 2025Experienced: September, 2024I feel safe because I travelled for work and were with my colleagues. It kinda reminded my hometown, it was nice. Havent seen any red flags, prices are normal as in Baltic countries prices. I would suggest to try their national candies - Kalev!

Overall, I felt really safe in Tallinn. I would recommand going to Pirita Beach, visit the old town and take a bus to go into one of the bog around Tallinn if you are there in summer. The bog I would recommand is the Viru Bog, one hour away from Tallinn but really worth it! I would also suggest to go to the Kalev Coffee shop, in the old town. It is the oldest one is the city and it's really good!
Posted: June 27, 2024We visited Tallinn during the independance day in February. It was an interesting and fascinating experience. The weather was unfortunately not the best but we were still able to visit the main parts of the city. Tallinn is a great City with a lot to visit. The old town as well as the beaches (in summer) are really great!
Posted: June 14, 2024Experienced: January, 2024I've been there multiple times, mostly off season for work. Some hotels are more run down than others. I felt safe going for a run alone after dark, the city is so small and quiet it's hard to imagine any crimes happening. There's not much to see but there's a lot of good restaurants and bars for such a small city.

Good small town, lots of students. Tartu has quite a cozy old city center. In 2024 it was the Cultural Capital of Europe. Most of the locals of 18-35y.o. speak/understand English. There are nice places to eat, lots of parks and a nice river to swim in.

Incredibly safe at most places even at night and for lonely people. The only places troubles may occur at are the farthest places from the city centre, tho even they are moderately safe. You can feel free to be yourself and out of judgement or harassment

Hi! I’m Dodo, like the bird or the pizza place. I’m into video games and drawing, but from now and then I like to go out on a wild adventure.

Hi! My name is Lumi, I'm a 21 year old ethnology student from Estonia. At the end of May my girlfriend Iris and I are going to Berlin and would love to find someone cool whose couch we could crash on for about 3 nights. I like meeting new people to learn about each others cultures. I'd say I'm rather an extroverted Estonian as far as this nationality goes. I'm eager to exchange each other's cultural views and traditions, share stories and experiences. In Berlin we would like to check out the rave scene, discover cool (vintage) thrift stores and perhaps get some insights about hidden gems in the city and hiking options around Germany. We're polite, tidy, respect rules and I promise we're cool and nice people :)

Hey!! I’m a Brazilian living in Estonia who loves so many things (yoga, volleyball, climbing) but currently without much time to practice any of them 🥹 Me, my husband and my 3 yo son moved to Tallinn 2 years ago and we are finally settled in this beautiful place :) however, my new apartment is unfortunately not very convenient to accept guests but I’d be more than happy to meet for a coffee/beer or give local advice. I used to do Couchsurfing many years ago across the places I’ve lived and visit - both hosting and staying. Always loved this sort of connection
