Very safe and pleasant city, it’s clean and the old part of town is very pretty as well as some neigbourhoods. Loved the national museum and the many cute cafes.

Very safe little town. Full of university students from end of august until late spring who are enjoying nightlife and beautiful Tartu vibe. Summers are beautiful and it's very nice to relax near the river where bars are open as well. Very calm and beautiful city where you can easily enjoy just being with yourself.

Tartu is a very safe and lovely place. Especially during the winter I felt really safe walking home alone during the night. In the summer it is also very safe and mostly very light during the night. I've never felt worried or afraid.
