Tallinn was a very nice city! My family and I went over the holidays and it is a beautiful city. The old center is quite touristy and a bit more expensive than the rest of the city. But overall really worth it! I wouldn’t recommend staying for too long as it’s relatively small, three days should be enough!
Posted: January 24, 2025Experienced: November, 2024I feel safe because I travelled for work and were with my colleagues. It kinda reminded my hometown, it was nice. Havent seen any red flags, prices are normal as in Baltic countries prices. I would suggest to try their national candies - Kalev!

Overall, I felt really safe in Tallinn. I would recommand going to Pirita Beach, visit the old town and take a bus to go into one of the bog around Tallinn if you are there in summer. The bog I would recommand is the Viru Bog, one hour away from Tallinn but really worth it! I would also suggest to go to the Kalev Coffee shop, in the old town. It is the oldest one is the city and it's really good!
Posted: June 27, 2024We visited Tallinn during the independance day in February. It was an interesting and fascinating experience. The weather was unfortunately not the best but we were still able to visit the main parts of the city. Tallinn is a great City with a lot to visit. The old town as well as the beaches (in summer) are really great!

My experience in Tallinn! I went with my best friend and we absolutely loved it. It was like a fairytale We felt very safe even at night we could both go for a wander around alone and not feel scared it was so inviting. The only thing we thought was bad was there wasn't much English at bus stops or trams so that took us a while to figure out how to pay but other than that amazing experience, a few times one of us would drop our hat or gloves and a local would make sure we got it even if they couldn't communicate it was really nice. I really want to go back there during a warmer month!!

When we arrive to Tallin, it was nighttime. Me and two of my friends could walk through the street at 11 p.m. It makes us feel safe. It was really freezing outside. We went first of march. You need clothes that keep you warm. Also, I tried a few traditional dishes but i am not sure if they’re nice or overrated. People are not hospitable and smile faced. It was a frustrating situating for me. Moreover, I love the castle and the viewing point of the city.

Tallinn was perfect But I highly recommend going there in warm weather because in February the place was so cold. I like the atmosphere a lot!!! Especially old town was vivid and there were a lot of good cafes and restaurants.
Posted: March 20, 2024Hey! I was on my business trip in Tallinn and first I was with my colleagues but I stayed there for extra 4 days and was absolutely alone. I visited some museums and parks, it was nice. I really loved the exhibition at Fotografiska. Since I was single at that time I met one guy on tinder, he was really nice, my danish friend organised a meeting with his danish friend and one Italian just came to me when I was going on a stroll so I was not that lonely anymore. I felt quite safe there. In general, I have pretty good impressions of that trip
Posted: November 25, 2023Beautiful city - very underrated! I felt so safe exploring on my own and stayed in a really budget friendly hostel in the city centre called Viru Backpackers Hostel! Definitely head up to the viewpoint overlooking the city, I went in February and it began snowing which made it even more beautiful
Posted: November 25, 2023I fell in love with this city. I stayed in the unique Kalamaja district, in one of the local wooden houses (Kalamaja means "fish house", its roots are in the fishing district, but today it's rather hipster and artistic). The museums in the city center are quite nice, but you can quickly explore them. I recommend visiting the NUKU museum, which presents dolls and puppets from the local puppet theatre. A place that presents really good works of art is Fotografiska, where you can also find delicious cinnamon buns. It is worth going to the Kalamaja Museum, which was created by the local community and preserves their stories. Be sure to go to the sea, even towards Linnahall. These beaches are raw and extraordinary.

It’s safe here most people just stay away from you since no one really liked tourists. You can still ask for help if you need anything. Most people are respectful and don’t come close or try to talk if you don’t want to talk with them
Posted: February 13, 2025Its really safe even walking around at night time. I have never had a negative experience in here. Lots of people know English so its easy to get help. Just around all town maybe being careful about your bag can make sense but still I never heard any steals from people. Don’t worry just try to have fun!

I am an actress living in Estonia, working full time at Tallinn City Theatre. I live for cats, wind in the open fields, the woods, smelling fresh flowers, walking in the morning snow, reading poetry out loud, long captivating conversations and decorating my home as if I was a long lost relative of some rich French royal family.

I am very enthusiastic about travelling, keen to learn about different cultures and every now and then travel solo. However, travelling solo brings me some uneasyness about safety - at least when travelling outside of Europe or some parts of Asia. Sharing knowledge and getting support from like-minded women would be great 🙂

Hello, my name is Kaari, and I’m 23 years old. I live in Tallinn, Estonia. I have a degree in Geology and Environmental Technology, and I currently work at Tallinn Zoo, where I get to combine my love for animals and nature every day. I enjoy meeting new people because I believe everyone has unique stories to share, much like fascinating books. I’m always eager to broaden my knowledge and experiences. One of my dreams is to travel the world, visit different zoos, and connect with colleagues from various countries to learn and grow in my field.
