Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Tallinn generally has a low crime rate and its streets are often safe at night. It's well-lit and has visible police presence. However, caution is always advised, especially in quieter, less touristy areas. Make sure to avoid unlit streets and parks after dark and always keep your belongings close to you.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Tallinn is generally very safe for solo female travelers. The public transit system, which includes trams, buses and trolleys, is well-maintained and frequently used by locals and visitors alike. The stations and vehicles are clean and well-lit, and security measures are in place. The locals are generally respectful and thefts are rare. However, be alert like in any other city about your surroundings, particularly at night, and keep your personal belongings close to you.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Very low

Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

While incidents such as pickpocketing, purse snatching, or minor burglaries may occur, particularly in tourist-heavy areas and crowded public transport, they are not highly prevalent. The Old Town in Tallinn, though a major tourist attraction, is relatively safe, but it's always essential to stay vigilant. A common precautionary practice is to keep your belongings secure and stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded places or during the nightlife. On the whole, Tallinn is considered one of the safer European cities regarding petty crimes.

Tallinn was incredible! It is a small (at least the old town) mediaeval town absolutely gorgeous. We went there with a group of friends and spent 2 lovely days visiting. The city felt very safe (but I was never alone). I would really recommend doing a walking tour (we did the free tour called Tales of Reval which I really recommend). And for food we really liked Pulla bakery and Rataskaevu 16.

Solo travel

As a single trip at first I didn’t feel so safe, but when talking to people and asking everyone agreed that the capital of Estonia-Tallin is a fairly safe city. The historical center is a really great place, and you can easily find it and see all of the interesting places in 1,5 day… I expend just 7-8 hours there because I had to take a fly from Tallin to another place.

Family travel

Tallinn was a very nice city! My family and I went over the holidays and it is a beautiful city. The old center is quite touristy and a bit more expensive than the rest of the city. But overall really worth it! I wouldn’t recommend staying for too long as it’s relatively small, three days should be enough!

I feel safe because I travelled for work and were with my colleagues. It kinda reminded my hometown, it was nice. Havent seen any red flags, prices are normal as in Baltic countries prices. I would suggest to try their national candies - Kalev!

Solo travel

Overall, I felt really safe in Tallinn. I would recommand going to Pirita Beach, visit the old town and take a bus to go into one of the bog around Tallinn if you are there in summer. The bog I would recommand is the Viru Bog, one hour away from Tallinn but really worth it! I would also suggest to go to the Kalev Coffee shop, in the old town. It is the oldest one is the city and it's really good!

We visited Tallinn during the independance day in February. It was an interesting and fascinating experience. The weather was unfortunately not the best but we were still able to visit the main parts of the city. Tallinn is a great City with a lot to visit. The old town as well as the beaches (in summer) are really great!

Tallinn is a safe country and it is super safe to walk even in the middle of the night without the fear of being mopped or attacked. As a foreigner, I haven’t had any bad experience to consider the city or country unsafe

Tallinn is a great safe town but always better to have someone by your side. Sometimes people can judge you by the way you look but mostly Estonians mind their own business. Being an alternative person myself I've experienced some unpleasant looks or comments but I'm used to it since I'm local.
