I only spent a day/night there but the scenery is stunning from the whole town. You can walk along the river or head to the little mall where there's a rooftop bar with 360 degree views, good day or night. I didn't catch the cable car up to the mountain top but my friend did and she loved it! Cheaper for students in the afternoon I think. I hiked a mountain looking for a spot to boulder which I didn't have time to climb in the end but it was still lovely. Splashed myself in the mountains streamz, picked wild cherries and oregano and got a lift from a local part way up the hill with my trusty thumb! Also found a great hostel, very cosy and cheap, above cafe munding, I would highly recommend.

I always feel very safe in Innsbruck. I love to ski, and the city is perfect for that. What I love is that you can see the mountains all around the city. I was cycling, but I believe there is a train connection.

I think Innsbruck is a pretty safe place to stay, people are friendly and helpful, maybe unless you're at some certain areas, like mitterweg or the train station at night. Also we have the women's taxi every night, from 8pm to 4am, which costs 5€ and the drivers will pick you up wherever you are in Innsbruck and bring you straight to your room/apartment-door if you want to.

Innsbruck is a very safe city in the heart of the Alps. I know that because I spent my teenage years going out in the evening in Innsbruck and I never felt uncomfortable, not even in the middle of the night. In general, crime rates in Austria are extremely low and therefore it is considered a very safe country to travel.
