Safety:Very safe

Bregenz is renowned for its picturesque landscapes and very safe environment. Austrian law enforcement is present and very capable, ensuring the safety of residents and visitors alike. The crime rate is relatively low, especially towards tourists. Of course, like any other place in the world, it is advised to keep personal belongings close, observe common precautions, and be aware of your surroundings, particularly in highly touristic areas.

Transport:Easy

Getting around Bregenz is generally very straightforward, thanks to its compact layout and array of travel options. The city is walkable, allowing for convenient exploration of its charming streets and landmarks. There are also reliable public transportation options that cover most areas of interest. However, some rural areas may be a bit more challenging to access without private transport.

Things to do:Interesting

Bregenz is a charming city blessed with bountiful natural beauty and historical architecture. You can embark on an invigorating hike on the Pfänder Mountain, which offers stunning views over Lake Constance. Kunsthaus Bregenz, another draw point, is a contemporary museum showcasing world-renowned artists' works. The city itself is a blend of modern and traditional, lined with quaint streets, shops, and cafes. The city's beauty and options for exploration could surely make your solo trip unforgettable.

Food:Above average

Bregenz offers a culinary delight with a variety of options ranging from traditional Austrian dishes to international cuisine. With fresh seafood from Lake Bodensee and locally-grown produce, the food is generally fresh and well-prepared. However, the variety might not be as extensive as more cosmopolitan cities.

Budget:Moderate

Bregenz can be moderately budget-friendly for solo female travelers. Accommodation can be affordable if you opt for hostels or budget hotels, and local food options are reasonably priced. Transportation is efficient and not overly expensive. However, attractions like the Pfänderbahn cable car and entry fees to museums can make your expenses add up, especially if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing. It's a great place to experience Austrian culture without the high price tag of cities like Vienna, but plan your budget wisely for the best experience.

Austria

Bregenz is a very beautiful and safe place for everyone. Also for young female travellers. I like spending time at the Lake of Constance. There is a promenade and I love to enjoy the sunset there. I usually go there with my friends, but I also enjoy going there alone. The transport is very easy, there are plenty of regional buses. You can go up a mountain called ‚Pfänder‘ by cable car and have a nice view over the city and the lake. - lots of cafés - good food spots - friendly people - safe for women
