Is Tashkent safe for solo female travelers?

Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, is generally safe for solo female travelers. The local culture is respectful towards women, and it's common to see women out on the streets, both during the day and at night. However, as with any destination, it's important to be vigilant and take common precautions like avoiding walking alone late at night in unfamiliar areas. It’s beneficial to also have a local connection or a reliable guide who can help you navigate and translate if needed. Aggressive behavior towards foreign women is not common, but it's also not unheard of. Overall, with the right precautions, Tashkent is quite navigable and worthy for solo female travelers.

Group travel

It was my first ever trip to abroad with my female friends, and I can say that it was amazing, successful trip. We felt safe during the travelling, Uzbek people were so nice to us, they were kind, helpful, lovely doesn’t matter of the gender. As far as I was the 4th year university student , my budget was only 100$, and in Uzbekistan you can feel yourself as millionaire with that amount of money😅 we travelled from Almaty to Tashkent during the Nauryz holidays. We started from the most famous restaurant- BesQozan, tried the legendary plov, somsa) we saw lovely park nearby there. People were so nice, they didn’t speak in English or Russian , cause I think they appreciated their own languages, culture. We’ve been there for 3 days , and it was unforgettable. Off course it wasn’t enough for us to deeply explore the city, we wanted also go to other historical cities like : Samarkand . But I can confidently say that I’d recommend this city - Tashkent to everyone, in group, solo, it’s really worth it😌

Tashkent is really safe place, don't worry about anything except the street taxi drivers asking more money if you don't use Uber app. Uklon or Yandex. Also I live alone and walk alone at night without worrying.

I can tell Tashkent is a safe place to walk alone and live, but due to newcomers from regions, they might slightly bother you with curious stares and maybe crude words. Guys in uniforms are in almost every public places and locals are quite friendly.Honestly, I'd rate 8,5/10 because no place is totally safe for women, just keep cautious so you won't be caught off guard.💁🏻‍♀️
