Is Omaha safe for solo female travelers?

Omaha generally has a reputation for being safe and welcoming towards solo female travelers. Like any metropolitan area, it has safer and less safe areas. It's always recommended to be aware of your surroundings, particularly at night, and stay in public, well-lit areas. The locals are known to be friendly and willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Public transportation is considered reliable, and monitored car parks make it safe if you're driving. However, always trust your instincts and if a situation or area makes you feel uncomfortable, leave it as soon as possible.

Omaha is a pretty safe place, it’s not a tourist destination and it’s very family oriented. The downtown area is nice and well lit. I’ve lived there for 8+ years and have never had a problem feeling like I couldn’t be out at night

Omaha is very safe, especially if you use a car as your main form of transportation. There are certain areas of the city that should be stayed away from especially at night, but other than that it is very nice to visit.

Omaha is overall pretty safe and on a daily basis, I usually feel very safe but I think that’s because I know the city well. However, that doesn’t mean crime doesn’t happen. Just like any city, take precautions wherever you go. Use your intuition and do your research.
