Always rely on public transport or reputable cab services during the night. Do not hitchhike or accept rides from strangers.

Public transportation in Nevada, particularly in Las Vegas, operates 24/7 which offers convenience and comfort. Regular security checks and presence of bus marshals can also be seen but certain instances of petty crime and occasional rowdiness associated with the party atmosphere are reported. As a solo female traveler, extra caution during night hours and awareness of your surroundings is advised.

Is Nevada safe for women?

Depending on the area of Nevada that you are visiting or intending to live raises or lowers the safety factor. In places such as Reno or Las Vegas of course crime rates are going to be higher due to city areas and population. I have been in areas in these cities where I have feared for my safety while out at night, but do feel moderately safe on the transport systems. However, in smaller towns the most crimes I have seen or have heard of are bar fights and sometimes theft of unattended items.
