I wouldn't recommend walking alone late at night. Public transport is plentiful and feels safe but take reasonable precautions walking alone at night. Drunken behaviour around town centre at weekends

I would say quite safe, but avoid walking alone late at night just for general safety reasons and don't let your phone or bag unattended. If you have a bike, get a lock. I have been catcalled once or twice though, but I didn't really feel in danger.
