Is Uckfield safe for solo female travelers?

Uckfield is pretty safe. I’ve never witnessed a crime here or felt unsafe and I am regularly on my own as an 18 year old female. Obviously I guess it must happen, there is a large school in the area, but the atmosphere is quite peaceful and the residents seem to be mostly old people to be honest. It’s a fairly small town though so it’s not really expected to have a high crime rate.
