Southampton, is generally considered safe for solo female travelers. Most areas are quite secure, especially during daylight hours. Southampton experiences a fair amount of poverty and higher rates of crime than the average for the region (southern U.K.). However, this is relative as the U.K. is a very safe country and I would still consider Southampton to be a safe place overall.
