Is Southampton safe for solo female travelers?

Southampton, is generally considered safe for solo female travelers. Most areas are quite secure, especially during daylight hours. However, like with any city, there may be certain parts that are less safe, particularly late at night. As long as you apply common sense, such as not walking alone in unfamiliar areas at night and staying aware of your surroundings, your visit should be pleasant and secure.

southampton is pretty safe as long as you have you're whits about you. avoid hogland's park, thornhill, and millbrook if you're alone at night, but during the day st mary's is a great place to visit full of independent shops and cafes, just make sure you're street smart

Southampton is a safe city, however, the nature of being female means we must be more vigilant to attacks when trying to live our lives. There have been some reports of assaults and muggings, but compared to bigger cities there is less crime.

There are nice parts, Highfield, Lords Woods, ocean village and there are less nice parts. Best to avoid the common and other green spaces at night but I generally feel pretty safe in the city The city centre can be rowdy if there is a football match on however
