Southampton is a safe city, however, the nature of being female means we must be more vigilant to attacks when trying to live our lives. There have been some reports of assaults and muggings, but compared to bigger cities there is less crime.

There are nice parts, Highfield, Lords Woods, ocean village and there are less nice parts. Best to avoid the common and other green spaces at night but I generally feel pretty safe in the city The city centre can be rowdy if there is a football match on however
