Is Reay Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

I just returned from a 4-day break on the Scottish coast. It was great for walking around but you need a car. Lots of stopping points, especially the NC 500 route. I would say it's a must. Very safe, lots of great solo walks and found the locals to be kind.
