Is Portsmouth Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Portsmouth is usually quite safe for solo female travelers. The city is known for its friendly locals and most areas are well-policed. However, like any other city, it's always important to stay vigilant, especially at night and in less crowded areas. Use common sense safety precautions such as avoiding lonely streets, not displaying expensive items in public, and informing someone trustful about your daily plan.

Safety at night:Safe

Portsmouth, is generally a safe city to travel even at night. Robust public security procedures are in place and residents are usually hospitable and helpful. However, like any other city, certain areas might be less safe than others. Is Portsmouth safe for women?

Overall I feel safe 95% of the time! Just like everywhere, during the day, overall it is very safe, and at night is is still safe but good to have your whits about you as a woman. Using normal precautions will be just fine x

It is a lovely city, I love walking around during the day but at night it is not the best if you are alone or if you live on secondary roads. We have experienced a lot of criminal episodes especially on Fawcett road lately, but it is common even in main roads like Albert road

About Me

Hello everyone! I am a 25 years old just finishedy master trying to understand what to do with my life :)! Currently working a part time job while I try to get a job related to what I have studied till now ( let's not talk about the job market). Currently in the UK, however would love to move and I hope to be able to see different countries in the world! In the meantime, trying to build something that I can call home. I was born and raised in Italy until I have decided to move for uni, and ethnicity wise I am north-african, Tunisian to be specific. I enjoy going to museum and learn about art, music, reading (books, comics and manga), going to concert and watching anime and kdrama. I am a relative quite and shy person and trying my best to get out of my comfort zone, open and curios to meet new people and see new cultures! Forgot to say, be ready to have deep conversation regarding our society today (only use that I have of my degrees at the moment). Hate it when people say "stop being political".
