As far as I am staying here for my study exchange I found this little city organised and safe. You don't need to worry go on a walk during the night. At least in the main area and the area occupied by students. With comparison to Nottingham, safety is pretty much higher- by the feeling.

Safe city. My hometown! Really pretty and safe around the Bailgate area, with the castle and the cathedral. People are really friendly and there are tonnes of cute shops to visit up in the bail. Good if you love older buildings/ history :)

I've never had any problems within Lincoln, nor do I know anyone who has. I feel it is safe for female travellers, and solo travellers. The city centre it's self can be busy like all city centres, it's best to be mindful of belongings. There is a lot of countryside surrounding Lincoln which is very beautiful and offers more tranquility away from the hustle and bustle.
