Born and raised here, it is a safe location to visit. I have never felt unsafe or in danger, even getting a taxi home late at night on my own or walking my dog in the dark in winter. It also has with plenty to do & a fast train to London Waterloo (35mins)

Precaution is the key. Of course things happen, but I haven't seen anything. I would say to be careful with crackheads for example, and not giving confidence. The High Street is very safe. As long you keep an eye, I don't think you need to worry about it. Usually I have my purse open and nothing happens. I felt safe as a woman and safe in terms of robbery.

Guildford is not too big, but there are plenty of fun stuff to do. I never felt threatened for walking alone after dark, even with my cellphone in my hands. Just not too comfortable around drunken guys.
