Is Derby safe for solo female travelers?

Derby is generally a safe city with lower crime rates compared to larger UK cities. There is a safe, well-lit city center filled with pedestrian streets and plenty of people around, even after dark. However, like any other place, it is always important to be aware of your surroundings and avoid certain quiet or poorly lit areas at night. Remember to keep your personal belongings secure at all times to prevent theft. Police and security services in Derby are generally responsive and reliable.

depends on who you bump into but kinda safe!! Personally wouldn’t choose to come here. A lot of people on drugs and a lot of scraps. Alright in the day gets a bit dodgy at night. Overall avoid if optional 🕺🏻

Derby is safe and quiet for solo females, although not really a tourist attraction. It is relatively small and easy to navigate so no one thinks anything of solo females, even after dark. There are always plenty of people about in the town centre.

My neighbourhood is safe to walk around in with friendly locals who are often walking dogs or carrying out exercise or around the parameters. There are public buses 10-15 mins walk away and lots of taxi services available.
