I would say Lviv is safe overall. You can walk alone at night, but still, as anywhere in the world, it’s better to be careful than not. Even regarding war, it is safer in Lviv, than anywhere else in Ukraine, though there’s always a risk of missile or drone attack.

It is in generally safe place, I haven’t experienced anything bad like having something stolen or being afraid of some people. Obviously you’d better avoid narrow roads and drunk people. But due to the active war since 2021 , it is up to you to risk. It is not as bad as in other cities, but you never know.

It’s a fairly safe city for women — attacks on women are not common here. There’s a curfew after midnight due to the war, and most people follow it. The police are approachable, speak English, and are generally helpful. There are also many women serving in the police force. What might feel more unsettling to you is the fact that we’re living through a war.

Lviv is great place to stay. It is safe during the night. I am a student and live there for 2 years and I haven’t experienced harassment at all. Everyone just minds their own business. Because of the war it is sometimes unsafe to stay there

In the city center, security is at a high level, the police patrol the streets. However, we have a large number of bars concentrated in the tourist area. In general, there is a large community of people and a tourist city. People are friendly and the streets are well lit. Currently, we have a curfew in effect due to Russia's attack on Ukraine, this is an additional security measure. Robberies are extremely rare in our country, but you should be careful on public transport and at the rally when you meet gypsies.
