Family travel

The people in Trabzon a little bit agressive than usual but when it comes to women they are overly protective and I was suprised because of this so I asked my dad because he went to college in Trabzon. He said for the people from the region of Black Sea (Karadeniz), women is very important when they see a woman on the street they automatically thinks “This woman is our daughter” or “This woman is our sister” so no one touch them. And when I heard that I felt more secure than normal. It was a good trip for me but their dishes weren’t quite to my taste.

Trabzon is one of the safest areas in Türkiye. It is considered a particularly safe city for women compared to other cities in the eastern part of the country. People are generally respectful and will offer you a seat in public transportation if you are a woman, elderly, pregnant, or with a toddler. Walking at night, even in areas like Akçaabat, is also safe. One thing to note is that people in Trabzon tend to speak in a loud and energetic manner, which might seem intense at first, but it is simply a part of their warm and expressive nature. There is no reason to feel uncomfortable. Additionally, locals are incredibly helpful and often go out of their way to assist visitors, whether it’s giving directions or offering recommendations. Their hospitality is one of the city’s most defining characteristics.

I think you can feel safe in Trabzon because almost all of the people are minding their own business and even if they understand you are a tourist they would act nicer and more polite. Just be careful about scams!
