It was totally safe. I have rented an apartment with pool and breakfast. The sea in the center is quiet good and clean. The food was expensive so i cooked a lot at home. Hiking, rafting, sea tours, swimming was really joyful.
Posted: September 21, 2024I felt safe in Antalya, especially at the hotel. As a blonde European woman, I sometimes got honked at and stared at by men, but it never led to any bad situations. Everyone was very kind and polite. I like the country because you can have a nice beach vacation for a low price. The people are open and friendly. The vendors can be very pushy and try to make you feel guilty, especially if they see you are unsure. But I think we should understand this, as the country is poorer.
Posted: July 30, 2024It was my first time in Turkey, and I was looking for a quiet place during the low season, but with warm temperatures and the sea. I heard about Antalya because of a friend who also travelled on a low budget and I couldn't be more grateful and happy about this recommendation! I stayed in an Airbnb studio, really close to the center, 10 min walking from Mermerli beach, and I happily walked 30 minutes every day to Konyaaltı beach. I had the best time. I mostly ate at home but I could also go out to have dinner at a restaurant if I wanted because it was affordable. I paid 380 euros for one month, between food, a few tours and tickets I would say I spent + 700 EUR, I was travelling from Norway. I felt safe the whole trip but I was not partying, I was only out during the day until 9 or 10 PM at most. I would definitely recommend visiting Antalya in low season because it's less crowded, the weather is still warm and you will meet very nice people!
Posted: June 7, 2024Experienced: September, 2023I went to Antalya/ Manavgat for Camping. İt was an event at the camping place. Antalya is turistic city of Turkey especially in the summer season. The nature, beach, weather and foods everything is amazin. But I can say that it's not a cheap city because of interest of turists. Obviously they have a point :)

In Antalya I was with my husband, but I think it's a very safe city, because they're good guardians and people was very nice to me. Dogs are more scared me at all :) don't go out in a night alone, think it's not a good idea.

I hitched from Kaş to Antalya city center alone. I didn't even have to raise my thumb because when the drivers realized my backpack they just stopped to ask me if I was hitchhiking. I felt completely safe. The people in Antalya are very used to hitchhikers and Turkish people in general if they see a solo female traveler they want to help. Antalya can be considered as a safe city for travelers.
Posted: April 22, 2024Experienced: May, 2017Everything was fine. It was a safe and fun experience. There are many places to visit. People are friendly and trustworthy. The place we stayed was very welcoming. I was very pleased, I recommend it if anyone is thinking of going.
Posted: February 21, 2024We stayed in an airbnb in Muratpaşa and it was really nice. We could order really good food via app. People were friendly. There are many mosques to pray in. Also a lot of supermarkets and places to shop. The beaches are mostly run by hotels, so we didn't feel free to go to any beach. But we liked to go for a walk to the harbor.

This is a quiet, natural, peaceful town. Events that make you feel unsafe are generally not noticed. It is a region where conscious local people and nature-loving tourists are predominant. Although it is necessary to be careful everywhere, we can say that Kemer is a safe place.
Posted: December 13, 2024I have been living in Antalya for two months now. I haven’t felt unsafe at any moment, not even at night or in neighborhoods that might seem unsafe at first glance. I’ve never felt in danger while using public transportation. On the other hand, I believe the mindset of the average Turkish person doesn’t lean towards stealing, mugging, or kidnapping. I’ve felt very safe here. It’s important to highlight that Antalya has a large international community, so cultural or religious differences won’t make you feel at risk. In other cities in Turkey, particularly more conservative ones, I did feel observed and judged for the way I dressed. However, that hasn’t been the case here in Antalya.

I’m Stefania, from Colombia. I’ve been living in Turkey for a little over a year now. I’m 34 years old, and I believe that at my age, connecting with people becomes increasingly difficult. I love traveling, and I think exploring interests, hobbies, cities with others, and exchanging cultures is a good and valuable way to do so.
