How safe is Fethiye?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Fethiye at night generally holds a reputation for being relatively secure. There are well-lit streets and plenty of people milling about in the night, owing to its vibrant nightlife. However, like any city, it's recommended to stay in well-populated areas and avoid more deserted or poorly lit neighborhoods. Keep in mind to maintain vigilance with your belongings to prevent opportunistic theft. As a general rule, standard safety precautions applicable to any other destination should be taken.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Fethiye is typically safe. Buses and Dolmuş (minibuses) operate regularly and are well-regulated. Generally, passengers are friendly and respectful. Standard precautions, such as keeping an eye on one's belongings and not accepting unsolicited help from strangers, should suffice. However, as with any city, it's important to remain vigilant at all times.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Fethiye is relatively respectful towards women, with minimal instances of street harassment. Its culture tends to be more conservative which reduces overt street harassment compared to some other global destinations. However, being a popular tourist area, occasional unwarranted attention is possible. It's always best to adhere to local customs and dressing modestly.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Fethiye generally has a low incident rate of petty crime, though it's advisable to always remain vigilant. The most common types of such crimes targeting travellers may include minor thefts such as pickpocketing and purse snatching, particularly in crowded tourist spots and on public transportation. Always keep your belongings secure and avoid displaying valuable items openly. Most locals are friendly and willing to help visitors, but as with any travel destination, remain cautious of your surroundings.

Solo travel

I stayed in Kabak Bay for two weeks. Since it was winter, it was very quiet. Nature interwined. There are minibuses available at regular intervals, or you can reach there by taxi or car. I heard it's very busy and fun during the summer months. You can find an atmosphere like the hipsters of the 60s here in the summer.
