Tunis is overall safe if you dress with the cultural context in mind, as a born and raised Tunisian I have never experienced anything in this city that has made me seriously consider it has a safety issue. As they tell you in other capitals in the public transport: don’t use your phone, be mindful of your belongings!
Posted: October 14, 2025If you don’t know Tunisia, let me tell you: it’s one of the safest countries in the region for women. Here, we have strong laws that protect us against violence, and there are centers where women can go if they need help or support. In the streets, schools, and workplaces, you will always see many women active and present, which makes daily life feel more open and secure. Of course, no place is without challenges, but Tunisia really tries to create an environment where women can feel safe, respected and free

The police are basically everywhere and they’re so friendly and open to answer questions also the people are so friendly and helpful and they’re very knowledgeable about the foreigners countries and you can easily talk with them about everything and they will absolutely understand.
Posted: September 15, 2025It's moderatly safe. Be respectful to the country and understand the culture before going. Research dangerous neighbourhoods (very well known) and stay away and do not go alone in the dark or in abandoned places and you are good to go.
Posted: August 7, 2025I have lived here my entire life and i really think it's quite unsafe. But the fact that i had a bad experience, doesn't mean other people are lying. So just be careful and smart. Plus, we have a code here don't trust young boys but you can trust old men and women.
