In general, public transportation in Sousse is quite reliable. The city offers buses, taxis, and a metro system. However, it can get crowded during peak times. As a solo female traveler, maintaining vigilance is advised, especially at night. Taxis are considered safer, but ensure the driver uses the meter to avoid overcharging. It is totally safe, I usually walk at night alone and never in my 5 years of residency here had even the slightest problem, I also lost my belongings many times including my phone and money and they were always returned
