Fribourg is overall not the most interesting nor safest for women to travel around. As a local myself, I tend to get worried when I have to get home late. I have been followed home once in my life and the man interacted with me wanting my number & asking if i live in a specific building. I highly suggest you to AVOID main train station during night as there are tons of junkies and drunks. Stay safe girlies🫶🏻

Fribourg is a small city but if you’re a women and go home after dark you’ll probably get catcall, never had any other problems tho. I wouldn’t recommend staying in places like the train station where it’s worse. Fribourg is quite “rural” and some people are close minded so if you have a non conforming appearance you might get some looks or comments. Otherwise it’s a nice city, the old town is charming.

About Me

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’ve always loved travelling and recently discovered the joy of solo travelling. A few years ago, I lived in Auckland, New Zealand for a year and then travelled around the world for 14 months. Since April 2024, I’m travelling around Europe in my camper van while working remotely until at least the end of 2025. My plan is to visit Ireland, Norway, Italy, Scotland, Wales, Iceland, Spain and Portugal.

About me

Hello, I’m Maria. I’m 47, and I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to over 75 countries. My journey started as a child, backpacking with my parents, and I’ve carried that love for travel into adulthood. Last year, I spent several months in Australia, and the year before, I did a solo trip through Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia for over four months. I’ve been to India 22 times, Thailand more than 15, and explored so many countries in Asia that I’ve lost count. I’ve also traveled extensively through Europe, the Middle East, and North America. South America is the only continent I haven’t visited yet, but it’s on my list! I’m passionate about skiing, diving, hiking, and connecting with nature, but I also love art and culture. Whether it’s a day of sports or a rainy Sunday spent doing nothing but watching a film or having deep conversations over a beer, I appreciate the beauty in both action and stillness.
