Fribourg is a small city but if you’re a women and go home after dark you’ll probably get catcall, never had any other problems tho. I wouldn’t recommend staying in places like the train station where it’s worse. Fribourg is quite “rural” and some people are close minded so if you have a non conforming appearance you might get some looks or comments. Otherwise it’s a nice city, the old town is charming.

For me it’s a safe place never had any problem walking home alone. Also I have a dog so I often go on walks late at night and never had any problem never been afraid of anything or anyone so I would say it’s pretty safe

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’ve always loved travelling and recently discovered the joy of solo travelling. A few years ago, I lived in Auckland, New Zealand for a year and then travelled around the world for 14 months. Since April 2024, I’m travelling around Europe in my camper van while working remotely until at least the end of 2025. My plan is to visit Ireland, Norway, Italy, Scotland, Wales, Iceland, Spain and Portugal.
