Petty crimes:Low

Lugano, maintains a lower incidence of petty crimes such as pickpocketing, theft, or bag snatching, compared to some other major cities across the world. Due to its robust law enforcement and generally safe environment, the instances of such crimes are relatively infrequent. However, it is always advisable to stay vigilant, especially in crowded areas and tourist spots.

Tap water:Very safe

In Lugano, as in most parts of Switzerland, tap water is of high quality and safe for drinking. In fact, it usually originates from natural springs or is perfectly treated ground water. It meets or exceeds all national and international requirements for potable water, and is also tested regularly to ensure ongoing safety standards.
