If you stick to safety rules (not to walk at night, and sometimes in the day in questionable places, not drink excessive alcohol etc.), then everything is good. People may seem harsh, but help will help if necessary.

Yakutsk is a safe city. People are friendly, always will help whoever needs support. At night time the city is quite beautiful and really cozy. Maybe there are not a lot of human made attractions but nature's attraction is really fascinating. We have a lot of exchange students from all over the world, mainly from China and Africa.
