I was living there for 6 years of my life. I know it’s not the safest place on Earth, but there are my rules: - always share geo location with your friend - always wear comfortable clothes (and shoes!) to run away - always check taxi drivers’ rate and don’t talk with them - don’t leave you clothes or any stuff when you need to move away for a sec - it’s better to have a friend to stay at night (no hostels or rooms) Some recommendations: - ЖизньМарт is definitely the best street food to take a coffee or dinner here - Ельцин Центр is one of the most interesting places to go for shopping and events (even for free) - Гринвич is a mall in the center where you can go shopping and eating for a whole day 🫶🏼

Yekaterinburg is safe for women. It’s a big city with good infrastructure, good taxi service, nice local people. Please choose hotels in the center of the city because there are some alcohol addicted people outskirts

If u r different from the crowd they'll ask unfriendly questions. In the bars it can be dangerous, coz there're lots of drunk people who are usually aggressive. During the night it's mostly okay, but I wouldn't spend unnecessary time outside after midnight
Posted: May 30, 2025the city is actually quite safe, you can walk alone at night, but in general it is hard to do this in any city as a woman. There is no theft, there are cases of pickpockets in transport. It's better to have some form of protection with you.

I don't think it's dangerous here actually, but it's not completely safe. Sometimes I can see drunk men on the streets, most of the time they are friendly, but still it's uncomfortable. I'm always anxious about my safety, especially in the dark, but it's mostly my fears, not the real situation in the city. Overall, the level of safety is 7/10.
Posted: April 15, 2025If you don't go alone at night and don't go to remote areas, then I'd rate the safety at 4/5:) you definitely don't need to relax completely. It's better to be on guard. It's best to come for 2-4 days
