Is Yekaterinburg Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Yekaterinburg is a cosmopolitan city with a generally safe environment for solo female travelers during the day. However, like any other busy city, it's recommended to stay vigilant especially during nighttime. Most locals are friendly but knowledge of Russian can be handy because English isn't widely spoken. There can be instances of petty crime like pickpocketing in crowded places, so it's best to always keep an eye on your belongings. Public transportation is reliable but having a phone with a data connection for navigation can be helpful.

If u r different from the crowd they'll ask unfriendly questions. In the bars it can be dangerous, coz there're lots of drunk people who are usually aggressive. During the night it's mostly okay, but I wouldn't spend unnecessary time outside after midnight

the city is actually quite safe, you can walk alone at night, but in general it is hard to do this in any city as a woman. There is no theft, there are cases of pickpockets in transport. It's better to have some form of protection with you.
