I stayed at Kino Hostel. We took the separate room for 2p. I felt safe. From the centre it’s more dirty but overall I loved it. The museums are must have to go to! But you need hours to see all of the paintings! Prepare comfortable shoes!

it’s quite a safe place, you shouldn’t be afraid at all, only at night in the suburbs you should be careful (like the final metro stations). also spb has a lot of bars, if you don’t like extra attention in some situations, go with guys who you trust or in companies (but it is still quite safe)

One of the things I appreciate most about Saint Petersburg is how safe it feels. As a woman, I feel comfortable walking around the city, even in the evening. It’s common to see children playing independently and people generally respect each other’s belongings. Of course, like any big city, it’s always wise to stay aware of your surroundings, but overall I find Saint Petersburg to be a welcoming and comfortable place to live.
Posted: August 2, 2026Do not communicate with drunk men, do not get into an unfamiliar car, it is better to use an official Yandex taxi Don't agree to shooting street photographers, avoid animators on Palace Square, they cheat tourists for money
Posted: June 2, 2026The city is actually very safe. I often walk alone at night or run in parks at night as well (often that's the only free time I have ;)). Of course, it's better not to wander around abandoned buildings or industrial areas, as homeless people might be sleeping there, but even the homeless are often friendly...

From my perspective as a city resident, some residential areas don’t feel very safe, especially at night, such as Nevsky, Kupchino, and Moskovskaya. Sadovaya Street and the nearby metro station also feel unsafe, as there are many homeless people and what seem like pickpockets. The Central Market is another place that doesn’t feel very safe. Please be cautious around Ploshchad Vosstaniya, as it tends to be very crowded, which attracts scammers and thieves. You may also encounter fortune tellers...

Saint-Petersburg is a cultural city based in Russia , so it’s kind of safe there, but over the city you should be aware of people ,named “Russian gopnics” they can bring your staff and bite you somethimes

Hi girl! 💕 I’m Dasha. 😊 I work in a hybrid format, so on weekdays I sometimes leave for the office early in the morning. If you’re staying with me on those days, we’ll most likely leave the apartment together. You’re welcome to stay for up to 3 nights. You’ll have your own private room. I just ask that you keep the apartment clean and tidy up after yourself so we can both enjoy a comfortable stay. I love traveling and meeting new people. I recently stayed with a wonderful host in France through Travel Ladies, and it was an amazing experience! My next trips are planned for Spain and Italy, and I’m looking forward to meeting more travelers from around the world. 😊

I’m Anna, I’ve been living in St. Petersburg for four years now. I study at St. Petersburg State University at the Law Faculty. I love traveling, but since I’m a student and don’t have much money I’ve been traveling to nearby cities in Russia or going on hiking trips with a backpack.
