I stayed at Kino Hostel. We took the separate room for 2p. I felt safe. From the centre it’s more dirty but overall I loved it. The museums are must have to go to! But you need hours to see all of the paintings! Prepare comfortable shoes!

Some drunk men can try talk to you especially if you are in the center of the city, but I personally and many girls that I know have never experienced any violence of harassment from men or women here.

it’s very safe city, but of course you need to be careful as in any travelling. Russian people are friendly and can help in any situation, but we have some immigrants who are untrustworthy. There's no need to worry, but it's best to warn your loved ones. Common safety precautions.

St. Petersburg is the cultural capital of Russia, and no one will bother you. Just walk around and relax. There are friendly people here who will help you if you need it. No one will steal anything from you, and you can move around the city in complete peace of mind.

Russia is a VERY safe country. Even if you feel nervous about someone eho wants to talk to you, 90% he wants just to share how is his day going haha You can leave your phone on a charge even in Macdonalds and be sure that everything's gonna be ok!!!
Posted: October 15, 2025It's safe to walk around the town at night, no thefts, many cameras to observe the situation on the street. Hotels are safe to stay in, no hidden cameras whatsoever. The only downside is the police which sometimes may get lazy to work with foreigners, but really depends on the police station
