Is Kazan Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

In general, it's calm here but you still shouldn't walk alone at night. And men, as everywhere, are shit and it's better to avoid them.

The city is quite calm, there are only a couple of districts (Aviastroitelny and Sovetsky) where the crowd is usually not the most well-behaved, in other words, there are some hooligans. But in general, it was very rare for anyone to be bothered. This was mainly a problem in the past.

In Kazan, I felt safe, but as in any place, there are different kinds of people, so you need to take care of yourself and your loved ones, especially in the evenings and at night. The air in Kazan is not very clean, so I recommend getting out into nature for some positivity.

Kazan is relatively safe city, I especially regarding the fact that it’s the capital of a Muslim republic. It’s ok to walk alone even when it’s dark in almost all the city areas expect for Aviastroitelny neighbourhood

It’s very safe place, especially touristic areas. You can walk safely after dark and still feel safe. Just use the main safety rules and you’ll be just fine. If you have some troubles just ask for a help or contact police.

It’s a safe city, but I would not recommend walking at night alone (maybe only in city center, there are lot of tourists). At dark time you might meet drunk people and this meeting is better to be avoided.
