Posted: September 2, 2024Lisbon is a very safe city. I felt comfortable solo traveling as a female and navigating the city at all hours of the day. I did not run into any issues and found the people to be very kind. The transportation system is fairly good and it was easy to navigate the city.

I was there a few days with my friend and her family. We all felt really safe and had amazing vegan food. I was walking also alone during the night and I felt safe. Would come back for sure 👍 Public transport is also really good. The busses and underground trains are coming quite often - no need to wait that long. At least that's my experience 🙂

Lisbon is a very attrative City . More special for me: there speak my native language, Portuguese. Excelent food and no expensive. A lot of monuments for to visit. Always is very nice place for to stay
Posted: August 6, 2024Experienced: February, 2023Lisbon has been great so far, compared to Nz the cost of living is far affordable, supermarket items all a fraction of the price, I had my hair cut and coloured for next to nothing. Blow away. Settling half an hour walk from the touristy part I opted to walk for exercise sakes, I did not bother with the “just a lift” as the views from the top of the hill were (I imagine) the same if not better. And no line. I didn’t bother googling food near me, I always found something delicious. Trainers/sneakers are a must… the stones appear like if they were wet could be dangerous as they’re already slippery and polished even in the height of summer.
Posted: August 3, 2024Lisbon is simply charming! The city is not very big, so it is possible to do everything walking. What’s great to get to know every corner and save money. For me the most beautiful and unmissable part of the city are the streets of the “Old Lisbon” beautiful gardens and buildings full of stories. And you need to eat the pastel of Belém, it’s €1.40 and it was the best pastel de nata I’ve ever eaten! I stayed at a hostel in the old part of the city, well located, close to one of the viewpoints (it was around €18 a night) and it was super worth it. I felt very safe in the city, as there are many tourists, people don’t even realise you, I didn’t feel uncomfortable at any time. The attractions have some that are a little expensive (I didn’t go to these), but it’s super worth visiting and taking several photos on the outside. I loved the city and I would definitely come back <3

I travelled to Lisbon last year during spring and it was such a good experience. I went on a solo trip and stayed in a nice hostel not so far from the city center. The transport system is quite reliable if you don’t drive and they have a lot of places to visit. The beach which is a bit out of town is wonderful as well. They’ve got also castles with interesting history and there is a direct train that goes there from the city centre. In general, it was such a good experience for me . I din’d’t get to visit every place because I was only there for three days. I would totally recommend

I spent 3 days in Lisbon and i felt very safe there, the locals were all very friendly and welcoming, the food was great and not expensive at all, I stayed at a hostel and it was a great experience. I super recommend doing a walking tour of the city to get to know a bit about the history of the place and to get recommendations for places from locals. Transportation is super easy there, there are day passes that work for all kinds of transport in lisbon, and if you need a place to leave your bags almost all metro stations have luggage lockers for the day!

I stayed 3 days in Lisbon as my first solo traveller trip, and it felt great! I always felt safe, of course I only went out during the day (as I do everywhere 😭), so I used to have dinner at the hostel and spend some time with people I met there. I buyed the Lisboa Card so I could use some discount on activities and transportation, and I highly recommend it. Lisbon is absolutely one of my favorite cities in Europe, go and explore it 🇵🇹❤️

My city is beautiful and safe! I can assure you that crime levels are very low and as a female the city as a lot to offer and it's easy to commute both day and night time without worrying too much! Thanks all!
Posted: September 19, 2024Lisbon is a very safe place to stay. Pratically no problem at any time of the day. The only danger is with petty offenses like pickpocketing. Is a tourist destination so I recommend keeping a close eye on your belongings.

A millennial who travels as often as funds permit, and a workaholic who stays busy when not on the move. I typically split my time between Lisbon and Paris, but when I’m outside Europe, you’ll find me reconnecting with my roots in East Asia, or in the Middle East, where I was born, raised, and spent over 30 years of my life. Firmly grounded, for I bear a journey that’s far from conventional. ✨
