Lisboa is a very chill and peacefull City. I have been living here for the past 6 years and it is really a great place to find a middle ground betwen living in a city yet keeping a slow place. How ever that doens’t mean you Will be bored! There is always something new to discover an in a lot of diferente subjects, dependi Go on your interrests!!
Posted: January 30, 2025Lisbon is the safest city in Europe for me and I have been almost everywhere! Everyone is nice and stay away from you if you look scared . Even at night it is really ok . I feel constantly secure even if you can see in the streets sometimes people are really high but not dangerous at all almost nice😅
Posted: January 26, 2025Feels very safe, esp in the central districts. Haven't had any problems and people have been very kind, but it's still a tourist city and you should keep eyes open. But I feel much safer than in many similar areas.
Posted: January 23, 2025Lisbon is a very safe place. As a woman, I really feel safe although we always have to be alert when walking at night in some neighborhoods (not the tourist part). I would recommend Lisbon for female solo travelers
Posted: January 21, 2025Lisbon feels like a pretty safe city for a capital. There are both in day and night people that will try to sell you drugs, but I think it’s just part of Lisbon and I just ignore them. Apart from that nobody has ever approached me for any other reason.
Posted: January 17, 2025Lisbon is big. Usually is pretty safe during the day. The night is depends on the areas but I recomend to not walk alone at night if you are not a local and dont know the area. Just call a uber or taxi or go with more people. Also be aware during night outs in the street to keep your phone in your purse, but usually nothing ever happens, but its just better to be safe :))

Lisbon is pretty safe, of course there are some areas that you should be more careful walking around, pay attention to your belongings at all times. But generally it’s safe, people are mostly tourist
Posted: January 16, 2025it depends on the area, central lisbon may have pickpockets, but is a safe area for other crimes. martim moniz may be a area to avoid if you’re alone at night. you can be safe in areas like belem, because it has a lot of police presence
Posted: January 12, 2025Lisbon is overall a safe and friendly city, you can walk pretty much everywhere at all times. Like everywhere women and people socialized / perceived / identifying as women experience safety differently.

Portugal, including Lisbon is a very safe country especially compared to other european country's and capitals. People are usually nice and ready to help, and only a few dont know how to speak in english.

Lisbon was one of the safest cities among those I’ve traveled to. The only slightly unsettling part was the homeless people under the bridges at night, but that’s something you see in almost every European city. There weren’t any disturbing people in this city. During this solo trip, I stayed at Lost Inn Lisbon hostel, which is usually preferred by backpackers. It was incredibly clean, safe, and centrally located—a warm welcome, so to speak. I spent around 300-400 euros in a week, but I can confidently say that I tried all kinds of food and visited every place I wanted.
Posted: February 12, 2025I didn't feel very safe in Lisbon, Portugal. Personally, nothing happened to me, but I heard about what happened to others, and because of those stories, I didn’t feel 100% secure. Accommodation is expensive, but transportation is cheap, and you can get anywhere by metro, as everything is well connected. It’s not too expensive, the prices are okay, but there are a lot of tourists all year round. Lisbon is a beautiful city with a lot to offer, and despite feeling uneasy at times, it's generally safe if you stay alert and follow common-sense precautions. Aside from the great public transportation, which is a bonus for getting around easily, you should definitely visit the following places: Belém – Here you can visit the Tower of Belém, Jerónimos Monastery, and the Monument to the Discoveries. Don’t forget to try the famous pastéis de nata (custard tarts), which are especially popular in Belém. Alfama – One of the oldest neighborhoods in Lisbon, with narrow streets and picturesque views. Also, be sure to visit São Jorge Castle, where you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the city. Baixa and Chiado – The central districts of Lisbon are full of shops, cafes, and restaurants. Baixa is great for shopping, and Chiado is known for its bookstores and galleries. Parque das Nações – A modern district with a beautiful park, an aquarium, and one of the most famous buildings, the Gare do Oriente (train station). Miradouros (viewpoints) – Lisbon has many spots offering spectacular views of the city and the Tagus River. Miradouro de Santa Catarina and Miradouro da Senhora do Monte are some of the most popular. LX Factory – This creative complex is located in an old industrial area, full of restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. It’s a great place to relax and soak up the local atmosphere.
