Lisbon is very safe, but the amount of tourists there make it feel like you might be targeted. On the flip side, because there are always so many people, it generally feels quite secure. I wouldn’t wear lots of jewelry or headphones at night, walking alone, but other than that, you should be fine.

Lisbon? Oh, it’s like the cozy sweater of European capitals—warm, welcoming, and pretty darn safe. Strolling through its pastel-colored streets feels more like wandering through a postcard than a crime scene. Sure, keep an eye on your stuff (as applicable to anywhere in the world). Overall, Lisbon’s the kind of place where your biggest danger is falling in love with a custard tart—or five.

It is overall safe! Just be attentive when catching ubers/bolts, and when going to Bairro Alto/Santos for a night out. I never had huge problems, but sometimes I can be uncomfortable by the looks some guys give me in these areas of Lisbon.
Posted: May 30, 2025Hello , It’s 50% safe there’s some area don’t have cameras as any other country but overall it’s still safe comparing to so many European countries , touristic areas are protected you do not feel danger however other areas should be avoided lots of drug addicts/dealers .

It’s kind of safe, but some districts are better to avoid (Martim Moniz, Intendente). Also, if partying you should be very careful which surroundings and your belongings. At night I would recommend take bolt or uber. People are mostly nice, especially women, but a lot of beggars who can be not people in need, but drug addicts.

I feel like if there’s a big group there’s nothing to worry about but if you’re alone just be careful and everything will be okay!! Overall it’s pretty safe, the advice I gave is mostly during night time but if it’s day time there’s really nothing to worry about

Lisbon was one of my favourite destination, felt very safe all the time, even alone at night as a female solo traveler. It is a really cheap destination with a lot of free things to do, there is always something new to see:)
