Group travel experience

I went to backpaking on the island with a friend. It was amazing, all the landscapes, mountains and views. We could camp for free to many places and we’ve seen so many stars. The food was good and we met some interesting people.

Solo travel experience

Madeira was wonderful. I was there for 4 days so I rented a car and drove the whole island, very leisurely, as it's pretty small. The mountains are spectacular, the beaches are pristine. I felt totally safe the whole time. People were friendly and helpful.

Family travel experience

Madeira is a beautiful island of Portugal. People are friendly. Lovely atmosphere to feel safe while visiting the island. Delicious food. A great place for a winter gateway. I took a day trip tour to go around the island because I didn’t drive. I stayed near the city centre and walked most of the time.

Solo travel experience

I travelled to Madeira solo last year. It's great and super cheap. I didn't have a car but it is definitely recommended. It was very expensive to rent one when I was there so I got around by bus. I stayed in Funchal and Porto Da Cruz mainly.

Solo travel experience

Madeira is wonderfull. I've stayed in Funchal for 7 days. For me it was a perfect startpoint to go to all the places I wanted to visit. Busses were cheap but not all hikes were reachable with public transport. I've booked myself a tour for the things I wanted to see but weren't reachable by car.
