based on 3 experiences from female travelers
Ericera is a great place foe wo.en to travel, in my experience. I felt safe in different hours of the day, including sleeping in my car and making a bonfire alone at the beach at night time. I was moving around and staying with my car so it's more easy, but if I rent a place in downtown there is most things at a walk distance. There are lots of activities, dance, music, culture and alternative scene of contact dance, extatic dance etc. I cannot recall how much I spent, but Ericeira is relatively more expansive than usual in Portugal. Enjoy :)
Posted: July 27, 2024Experienced: April, 2024I felt very safe in ericeira, i didn't have an internirary and explored everything that looked good to me. It was very easy to meet people. I stayed at Laneez surfhouse and that was the best decision. I recommend taking surfing lessons even if you never thought about it.

Ericeira is a small town close to the middle for the coastline of Portugal. I can very warmly recommend travelling there alone. There were many solo travellers, quite a few of them women. It is mostly for surfing but also for going out. The town and nightlife is not too big but surfers do know how to party. Also, it is pretty touristic. You will find different kind of hostels, some up the hill seemed beautiful. But I stayed in a cheaper option in town and it was comfortable enough for me.

It’s very safe, I have been coming here since I was born and never heard of any problems. It used to be a very humble town, not it’s a very touristic town. Always very safe and friendly to everyone who wants to visit
