I stayed 4 days in Tromso with my mom. Everything was supper expensive , but nice and clean. The scenery is beaitiful. We went to see the seals at the oceanarium and we did a husky ride and raindeer feeding. All very nice experiences.
Posted: September 6, 2024Tromso is very safe! However tours can be overbooked very quickly so please plan your trip and book in advanced! Food and accoms are expensive, highly recommend to cook. Do wear more layers too, especially if you are chasing the northern lights :) All the best and have fun there!
Posted: March 12, 2024Experienced: February, 2024Best place in Scandinavia to visit especially in the winter. Fjords, mountains, city, chasing Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights are just some of the tourist attractions one should not miss. And the best of all — locals are friendly and generous people.

Recently, I saw the Northern Lights in Tromsø, Norway, on a solo trip. Missed them in Iceland years ago, but luck was on my side this time! Accommodation - very good Things to do - northern lights tour, Sami village
Posted: January 18, 2024Experienced: October, 2566Tromsø is one of the best places to observe the Northern Lights. I was there in February and it was really cold, so remember to pack warm things. I spent my time chasing the Northern Lights, feeding reindeer, and taking part in an Arctic tour. You can easily get around the city by buses, English is commonly spoken, and there are many day trips to choose from.
Posted: November 6, 2023I spent a week in Tromso and I would go back there in a heartbeat. I definitely recommend the Northern Lights and whale watching, as well as the fjords (both boat and coach tours are equally worthwhile). I also participated in a winter snowmobile rally in the Skibotn valley and night-time dog sledding.
Posted: April 2, 2023Very safe, not dangerous at all, you don't have to worry, just enjoy the city, it's safe. You can be anywhere, at any time. All alone - no one will touch you unless you want that. Of course some drunk people in the club might be a bit much, but just tell them you don't like it and they will go away.
Posted: October 12, 2024Generally very safe. Low crime and violence rates. Walking alone at night is not a problem anywhere here, but it's hard to feel completely safe, just like anywhere else. Public transport is in general very safe, during nights on the weekends it can be loud and people can be quite intoxicated.
