Solo travel experience

I felt really safe in Bergen, it's a small town but very touristic and that's why it's very expensive. I stayed in a youth hostel and I used the kitchen to cook my meals. There are a lot of interesting things to do around, just go to the tourist information and they will help you to choose a cruise, a hike or other many activites. My budget was about 70 euros each day.

Solo travel experience

I felt very safe in Bergen! I would recommend checking out fløyen and Bryggen! There was a lot of good food, I would recommend eating fish while you’re there! Norway is very expensive so keep that in mind, but overall I would recommend Bergen!

Solo travel experience

I loved Bergen and felt very safe. I walked through Vidden, ate the most delicious seafood at an outdoor restaurant in the market, and then took a fjord cruise to Flam, returning to Bergen by train.

Bergen is so safe and beautiful. Bring good shoes for walking in the mountains and a raincoat. It is very easy at the airport in Bergen, as well as during transfers from Oslo. Everyone speaks English, and customs clearance is not as "scary" as in the USA.

Norway is in general a very safe country. Bergen is no exception. Puddefjordsbroen and Danmarksplass are known drug addict areas. The main thing to worry about is underestimating the nature. Most of the tourists who get in trouble are those who get stuck in the mountains. Read and respect our Fjellvettregler.

Bergen is a super safe city. I really have never felt so safe in any country and city that i'v even been. Plus in the summer time we have kinda "white nights" which makes it even more calm to walk around)

Spent months waiting for a spontaneous trip to Bergen, because I wanted to choose a sunny week. The travel was more expensive this way but definitely worth it! You don't need more than 2-3 days to visit every sight, but you can spend a couple more days sailing to the fjords etc. Highly recommend!

Family travel experience

I loved Bergen! We went on one of these get your guide tours and it was really worth it! We were a family of 3 (my dad, brother and me) and we stayed at the Scandic Neptun hotel! The breakfast was included, there were 3 single beds so it was perfect for our little trip! We took the train from Oslo to Bergen and had a stop at Myrdal, where we took the Myrdal train which was worth it as well! Can really recommend it! Check out the train schedules on google maps! Super easy and reliable!
