How safe is Alesund for women?

The city is not that big so there's not much crime, at least I haven't heard of anything serious. A few thieves here and there but that's only in shopping areas and can be avoided if you keep an eye on your items at all times

I have been living here for 15 years and we only had one seriously case about someone getting raped and killed. That was back in 2014, in a forest by someone with mental illness. So I will say is safe city travel alone, but you should always be cautious anywhere you go. I had never experienced being robbed or been attacked
