Zutphen is a very safe, small and cozy city. At night it can be very quiet, as there are not a lot of people on the streets normally. I would recommend being watchful at night, but I would say it is quite safe.

Zutphen is a small town with beautiful old buildings in the city centre. The vibe is pretty chill as it's a city known for attracting artists and free minded people. It's a nice blend of social groups who let each other be who they are.

I have been living in Zutphen for years and it is such a nice city! Everyone is very kind en helpful. You can approach anyone out on the streets to ask them where to go and they will help you out for sure! I have never seen anything such as fights or policemen going into a house or whatever. I don’t even have a lock on my bike, but I know it won’t be stolen.
