Groningen is an absolutely beautiful university city that is definitely worth visiting during a train trip to the north. Its stunning architecture and lively nightlife every day of the week, full of young people, are captivating. I felt very safe there.

Students mostly live here so I always feel safe even when I am walking home at 4 AM through the park. Usually the crowd dies down around 6 and students start going out to the city almost ever week day hence its very safe
