Is Almere safe for solo female travelers?

Almere is located in the Netherlands, which is generally one of the safest countries in the world. As for Almere itself, it has a low crime rate and solo female travelers usually feel secure day and night. The local population is used to international visitors and is generally very respectful and friendly. However, as always, it's still necessary to take common travel precautions, such as not walking alone at night in unpopulated areas and always being aware of your belongings.

Having lived in Almere almost my whole life, I can say I have never felt unsafe in the daytime. In the nighttime, it depends on the area. Around shopping areas with bars sometimes homeless and/or druk people hang out, which makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. I've not seen this happen in residential areas yet. The crime rate seems to be going up in Almere, but I haven't heard of anyone I know being affected by it. The public transport in Almere and the Netherlands in general has always felt very safe to me.
