Is Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains safe for solo female travelers?

I’ve spent two weeks of my summer at a camp ground. I did feel safe. People are pretty nice. I would recommend to try surfing. For me it’s been the main reason to be there. The atlantic Ocean is pretty wild so as a beginner you have to be mentally prepared to drink some salty water but it still is super fun. I also met a woman who had her camper van broken into when parking at the beach parking lot. All her money, credit cards and phone were stolen so be careful when you travel with a van.
