I really enjoy the town of Versailles, although I have never been to the palace. The town has some nice green spaces and, if you are looking for a place to stay nearby Paris then I think it could be a contender. I enjoy how quiet it is, it seems like a lot of families live here. There were multiple mornings I would see children walking themselves to school and in the evenings I felt safe walking to my apartment (although, in general, I do not stay out after dark so the latest I would be out was...

Versailles is a very safe city with very nice inhabitants. The police are present there and provide a safe environment for tourists, young girls and those who walk at night. I've never heard of any aggression

Very safe place, never had any issue. I walk alone at night and never had a problem in months. It's a lot of tourists and a lot of family who lives there. Very Catholic and wealthy city so the crime rate is very low.
