Is Toulon safe for solo female travelers?

Toulon, the maritime city of France, is generally safe for solo female travelers. While it's a vibrant and bustling location, like any other city, we need to be mindful of our surroundings and practice general safety norms such as not wandering late at night alone, securing valuables, and staying in reputable accommodations. Petty crimes like pickpocketing could happen in crowded areas. However, violent crimes are relatively rare. Locals are friendly and helpful, and law enforcement is reliable and responsive to any issues one might encounter.

I really love my city. Toulon is safe. Of course some neighborhoods are safer than others but you can walk easily even by night in a lot of street. I've lived here since I was born and I've never been attacked in the street or never been robbed.

Toulon is a beautiful city to visit but very insecure as a woman. I had to walk a night in the city due to my job, and almost every time a man cat called me or even followed me. Had to have a male friend to accompany me to feel save, not very pleasant 😕

It depends on where you go in the city. There are some places that are more creepy than others and where you can be a little more annoyed but since the time I have been there I’ve never been bothered. Nothing ever happened. People are kinda nice

I’ve been living in Toulon for the past 5 months, and honestly, the city pretty good. I would say that to rating of safety depend on if you are going out the night or not. In broad daylight I never had any problem (and I dress very short miniskirt and all and never someone touched me) but at night, especially around the railway station their is drunk people who can get violent or weirdo who’ll say “I’m your taxi!” when you didn’t even order one. For safety measure, always take a pic of the licence plate of your taxi/uber and see if it match in the app, and preferably stay on the phone with someone. It help prevent accident in case the driver in weird. Other than that, the city is overall safe for the most part.

In the center of toulon, there are at night many strange people that are drunk. But in the day i feel quite safe walking around the street. I personally leave next to Toulon where it is mostly old people and students so i feel more safe there.
