Walking around alone at night might not be a good idea, didn't feel very safe but depends on your location on the island, during the day no problem Diving, hiking, chilling... it's paradise on earth

I came to Martinique with my husband during the pandemic. And by chance, our cruise was canceled. Then we explored the island from the other side, not from the tourist side, but from its nature. Everything was closed, markets, big shops. But I fell in love with this island. The people here are very kind, it's very safe here, the doors in the houses are not closed, there is trust between people. It really amazed me.

Due to my unusual appearance, I was often approached or catcalled on the street, but always in a respectful manner -> 'very beautiful ma'am,' no vulgarity, and the men have no problem understanding the word 'no.' No pushiness and it's a relief (It's different from mainland France 🙄).
