Is Lorient worth visiting?

Group travel

Lorient was a calm city, good food and restaurants weren’t overly expensive. The ocean was beautiful, and beaches could be found close to the center. I liked the place, and it was nice to explore the breton culture :)

Is Lorient safe for women?

Lorient, like all cities, has a crime rate, but it's not that high, I'd say. It's mostly drugs related crimes that i hear about in the news, like drug traffic. I've never heard something extremely shocking, like murder or rape cases. Of course, you may be approached by men, like in every city, and I don't know if I'm lucky, but those men who approached me left me alone quite quickly when I said no. The worst that has happened to a friend was to be followed for a bit in the streets :/ Of course you don't wanna go alone in weird places at night like everywhere else but I'd say I feel pretty safe in Lorient.

Despite its reputation, Lorient is quite safe of a city! Some neighbourhoods might not be the safest at night (just like in any other city), but during the day, especially during the touristic season, it’s a pretty safe city!

About Me

Hi, I'm Amandine ! I'm 19, and I'm a French student who's willing to travel more and discover the world in my twenties. I haven't had the chance to travel in a lot of places when I was younger, but discovering many new places and cultures is something I really want to do in my life. I haven't done a solo trip out of France yet, but I hope to find the courage and opportunity to do it soon ! I heard about this app and thought that it would be a great opportunity to meet girls around the world, discover cultures through real people and eventually feel safer if I decide to travel alone in a foreign country !

About me

Hi ! I am Vic, from France. I am 33 years old, but I couldn't change the birthdate on the app. I have travelled on my own quite a bit, now doing so on occasion. I am Happy to meet new people along the way, have nice discussion, share a meal, a coffe, visit together... I am quite calm and playful at the same time, always up for a new challenge or adventure, as long as I am away from the busy big cities.

About me

Passionate about political science, philosophy, and social sciences, studying at Sciences Po allows me to pursue all these interests because it offers a very interdisciplinary bachelor's program. I'm a curious person who constantly seeks stimulation! I can genuinely be interested in everything, and I particularly enjoy discovering new things. Being Franco-German, I've always been immersed in two cultures and have traveled back and forth between these two countries to visit my German family. Thus, I've always loved exploring different cultures, and since my childhood, traveling has been natural to me, whether with family, friends, or alone. I have a background as a competitive judoka. Judo was the centerpiece of my life from ages 10 to 16; it was my great passion. Today, as a black belt, I continue to practice judo, albeit less regularly, and I'm interested in all combat sports! I love spending time in nature, which is why I've been sailing since childhood. I grow up in Brittany. I'm a sailing instructor in the summer. I sail catamarans, windsurf, and use a laser. I go running and do strength training regularly. I am politically involved in animal rights and environmental causes in an association because these are topics that seem very important to me. It's also for these reasons that I've been vegetarian for 7 years and vegan for 2 years. I'm also interested in effective altruism, which involves optimizing the allocation of resources to maximize good. Those who love philosophy may have already guessed it: I identify with utilitarianism and stoicism. And, of course, "tripism" :)
