It's a small provincial town with a calm atmosphere, a leisurely pace, and a population of no more than 20,000. It's not a city where you have any sensitive neighborhoods to absolutely avoid (I'd only say the old town late at night). It's quite a touristy city, especially in the summer, particularly for pilgrims, culture and heritage lovers, and hikers. It lives partly off tourism, so it pays attention to its image and the tranquility of its visitors. No need for extreme security measures. But...
