Is Le Havre safe for solo female travelers?

Le Havre is generally safe for solo female travelers. Similar to all cities around the world, it would still be important to exercise caution, especially during nighttime or when walking in less-populated areas. As a preventive measure, regular safety practices such as being aware of your surroundings, carrying a phone with local emergency numbers, and not displaying flashy belongings should be observed.

The Havre was a beautiful place ! The people there were extremely kind, they wouldn't hesitate to chat with you. There are a lot of activities and it's quite a nice place ! My companion and I felt very safe.

I never felt unsafe here, people are kind in the street, they say "Bonjour" et/ ou "Bonne soirée" and helps if something looks wrong. I was told is better to avoid some neigbourhoods, as quartier des Neiges or Croquiauville

It’s really slow and calm, only busy during summer due it’s a port and cruises stop here so people can go to Paris and different destinations. Student life is good, there are some bars and places but definitely the beach is one of the best places to go

In Le Havre there are not many people and there is not night life. When you go out at midnight there is nobody. So it could be dangerous sometimes. Better not being alone in Le Havre’s streets. The places to avoid the night is the train station and Rond point
