Grenoble was very nice. I got the chance to be hosted by a local for the weekend and she showed me around her favourite places. I loved the adventure of discovering a new city and especially through the eyes of someone who lives there and loves her city.

Pretty safe city if you avoid « ghetto » parts, the center and the surrounding like « saint Egreve » are really calm and have a beautiful views of the mountains. During winter its better to not stay late at night cause past 00h The streetlights are off.

I wouldn’t say my city is completely unsafe, but as a woman you do get a lot of lingering stares, random comments, and sometimes guys trying to talk to you or even insult you. Usually, it doesn’t go further than that, but you still need to be aware, there are rare cases of people trying to brush up against you in crowds. Best tip : avoid making eye contact in the street.
Posted: August 14, 2025This city is notorious for drug trafficking, but the residents are not concerned by the conflicts between dealers As a woman, I often go home alone at night and I've never had a problem in Grenoble I'd advise you to avoid neighborhoods/towns south of the metropolis if you're scared.
Posted: August 13, 2025The hyper center is safe but some place are very insecure like the south or echirole or the square st Bruno, it’s above the train station. Don’t be alone in the center of the parc Victor Hugo too or in any parcs….
Posted: August 2, 2025I feel like it can be pretty unsafe sometimes, I personally never have experienced anything bad, but a lot of people have and we all know for sure it’s not the safest place. I would not recommend for a girl to visit alone, especially at night
